I Was A Cub Scout.

Ian and myself wen to a gig last night; I Was A Cub Scout. We had previously seen them supporting Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. Was a brilliant night. I don't know what it is, but there's something about the atmosphere of live, close-up music. We were right at the front, touching the stage, centimetres away from the 2 band members. It felt fantastic. There's a strong bond that connects everyone to each other. We all have something in common and it makes you feel like you've known the complete strangers around you for years. It's impossible to feel uncomfortable or out of place. I love it.

Some guy from some band who weren't performing that night gave me a makeshift CD of 3 of their songs. I thought this was quite unusual. The drummer threw or dropped one of his drum sticks right in front of me and Ian. Ian claimed it as his.

At the end of the night the lead singer told us all that the band had split up so this was their last tour. This was a sad end to the night.

But overall, bloody brilliant!

Ahh, I remember being 14. Terrible year, in reality, but at the time it seemed pretty great. I never got to go to concerts at that age though - more because I was antisocial, but that's not the point.
Also - far out British lingo! I'm from suburban U.S. so it's refreshing to hear diction other than "whatever" and "brb lol jk!" said aloud.
